PMS Punjab
PMS stands for Provincial Management Services. It's a competitive Examination conducted by the Punjab Public Service Commission. It includes written test, psychological test and interview. The candidate who passes these 3 stages is offered a government job as First Class Officer (Grade 17).
Eligibility Criteria
- No gender boundaries i.e. male, female and transgender can apply.
- Candidate must have a graduation degree in any discipline with a minimum of 2nd division from a recognized educational institution/university.
- The age limit for a PMS candidate is 21 to 30 years.
- 5 years upper age relaxation for the government officials serving for at least 4 years (subject to the certificates issued by their respective departments)
- 10 years of upper age relaxation for the special persons (subject to the submission of disability certificate).
Nationality
A candidate should be a Pakistani national.
Domicile
The candidates must have domicile and permanent residency or Punjab.

Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Bahawalpur, DG khan, Faisalabad, Sargodha
Parts of PMS Exam
There are following parts of the PMS Exam with 1400 marks in total:
Phase I
100 MCQs based paper of General Knowledge
Note: There is a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer in General Knowledge (Objective part) Exams
(Only candidates who clear phase I will appear in phase II)
Phase II
- Written Examination – 1200 marks
- Psychological Test
- Viva voce/Interview – 200 marks
Written Exam (Compulsory + optional subjects)
PMS Syllabus for written exam consists of 6 Compulsory Subjects (600 marks) and Optional Subjects to be chosen from 7 groups (600 marks).
Passing Requirements
A candidate has to secure at least 33% marks in each paper and the aggregate of marks should be 50% or above of the total marks of the written examination.
Process after the Written Exam—Interviews
The individuals who pass the written examination will appear before a committee of interviewers for the interview. The questions asked would be based on the candidates' academics, subjects studied for the exam, and the general interest of the interviewers. No candidate shall be deemed to have passed the viva voce or interview if he/she fails to get at least 33% marks in it. If he/she fails to do so or remains absent from the interview, he/she will be considered failed in the process of selection.
Announcement of Final Merit List
After the declaration of the final result, the candidates are appointed as Gazetted Offers. They undergo training in the civil service academies, and on successful completion of the training they are posted to various posts of Grade-17. The training is designed to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to make them able to discharge their duties in an effective and efficient manner
