PCS Balochistan

PCS Balochistan is Competitive Examination conducted by the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) to select the competent and capable candidates for the positions of BPS-16 & 17 officers of executive cadre in the provincial government.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Both male, female including special persons can apply.
  • Candidate must have a graduation degree in any discipline with a minimum of 2nd division from a recognized educational institution/university.
  • The age limit for a candidate is 21 to 28 years.
  • 1 year of upper age relaxation for the candidates from the scheduled caste.
  • 5 years upper age relaxation for the Federal/Sindh Government officials serving for at least 4 years (subject to the certificates issued by their respective departments).

Nationality

A candidate should be a Pakistani national.

Domicile

The candidates must have domicile and permanent residency or Balochistan.

Exam Structure

  • Written Examination
  • Interview

There are following parts of the PCS Exam with 1250 marks in total:

  • Written Examination – 1050 marks
  • Viva voce/Interview – 200 marks

Written Exam (Compulsory + optional subjects)

Syllabus for written exam consists of 4 Compulsory Subjects (400 marks) and 3 optional Subjects to be chosen from 5 groups (450 marks).

Passing Requirements

A candidate has to secure at least 33% marks in each paper and the aggregate of marks should be 50% or above of the total marks of the written examination.

Process after the Written Exam—Interviews

The individuals who pass the written examination will appear before a committee of interviewers for the interview. The questions asked would be based on the candidates' academics, subjects studied for the exam, and the general interest of the interviewers. No candidate shall be deemed to have passed the viva voce or interview if he/she fails to get at least 50% marks in it. If he/she fails to do so or remains absent from the interview, he/she will be considered failed in the process of selection.
